Facilitated the Australian launch of CDM Smith, an American engineering and professional services firm (US$1.2bn revenues), through two acquisitions following assessment of 20 plus potential acquisition targets.
Acquired E3 in Brisbane and Sydney and NTEC Environmental Technology in Perth setting CDM Smith up as an international engineering and environmental consulting firm in Australia, and leading the Asia Pacific region expansion for the head office in Boston.
Led the sale of JTA, an Australian based health services IDA firm to Abt Associates, an international health, education and IDA firm based in Boston (US$650m turnover) following a worldwide search. We then assisted Abt Associates in the firm’s UK market entry.
Completed a major strategy and change management assignment over 18 months for Freehill Hollingdale Page (now HSF) to consolidate a federated law practice of more than 100 partners under a single governance and management structure across five national offices and 7 major business units. Increased partner earnings and PEP by 40% after 2 years.
Mandated by the Perth office of Minter Ellison to find the firm’s 20 partners an international platform to merge with, leaving the Minter Ellison federated practice.
We met with 8 UK firms and 5 US firms and facilitated the combination of the Perth office with Squire Sanders (now Squire Patton Boggs) (USD $600m revenue at the time) and then opened their Sydney office through a managing partner and group from Allens in Sydney. ECP continued to support the Australian and Asian practices of the firm in an advisory and professional search capacity.
Managed for EnviroSolutions and Consulting the acquisition of Indonesia based GreenCap, a subsidiary of Wesfarmers. Assisted in the integration following the acquisition, including providing CFO services.

Set up the governance structure, produced a compelling information memorandum and completed two successful rounds of capital raising to launch the company in Australia and the UK.
